As the hugely popular Resident Advisor website and online community celebrates its tenth year on the dance music scene, it is fitting that they should welcome some of its favourite artists to the arches at Piccadilly for one of the most eagerly anticipated Warehouse Project line-ups of the year. Top of the list of performers is the enigmatic German duo Booka Shade, who recently released their fourth studio album More! and run the successful Get Physical label with M.A.N.D.Y. They’ll be performing one of their famously intense live shows on the night, giving them a chance to haul Arno Kammermeier’s ever-growing drum kit onto the Store Street stage.
Resident Advisor started life in 2000 as a site dedicated to covering the Australia dance music scene, but quickly outgrew its remit. By the mid-Noughties, it had become one of the leading sources for all things electronic on a global scale, expanding to take in offices in London and Berlin and contributors from all corners of the planet. Not just that, but the site also provides a valuable resource for the dance music community: from DJs through to promoters and punters. Joining Booka Shade on the bill at this party will be some of the site’s other favourite artists, including Detroit godfather Carl Craig who will be making his WHP debut tonight. Seth Troxler has very quickly become one of the most in demand names on the house and techno scene and joined Jamie Jones on DC10 resident duties this summer. Jamie also continues his WHP residency tonight. Also up Berlin’s Prosumer (who’s resident at some place called Berghain?), New York’s Fred P and Sofia’s Kink complete the line up, as well as UK talent in the form of Subb-an and Greg Lord.
