On Friday 23rd November, Denis Sulta brings Baba Stiltz and many more to Store Street for his debut Sulta Selects event.
Baba Stiltz (That is his real name) made his beginnings in music with his folk band The Bethlehem Beard Corporation, Baba Stiltz has come a long way since, becoming the leftfield producer and DJ we know him as today. Born in Stockholm, and raised partly in the US, Stiltz has regularly collaborated with iconic swedish hip-hop collective sadboys (Yung Lean) as well as releasing music through Studio Barnhus (Kornél Kovács, Petter Nordkvist and Axel Boman).
When he was younger, he was involved heavily with dance, something which he believes holds no weight in his current musical output. At the age of 15 he was enrolled in an intensive ballet academy, and before this he was involved heavily in street dance. Stiltz began creating music at the age of 10, simple instrumental tracks, before beginning to sing at the age of 11 meaning he has over a decade of musical experience.
The 24 year old has also recently put out a 4-track EP titled Showtime with the iconic British label XL recordings, which has featured music from the stadium filling likes of Adele. In addition to this, Stiltz has had music released by; Unknown to the Unknown, The Trilogy Tapes, Public Possession and Born Free Records.
Stiltz is known for his wide ranging influences and output, flitting erratically between hip-hop, R&B and ever widening genres. Stiltz said in an interview with xlr8r, “Music is everything, so I think it makes sense to do anything.”
Having previously performed at last year’s closing party, Stiltz returns for Sulta Selects to bid his farewell for the iconic Store Street venues final year.
