Justice [ DJ set ]
It was back in 2003 that Xavier and Gaspard aka Justice, picked up Simian's track "Never Be Alone". The pair remixed the tune and entered it into a competition on a Parisian college radio station. Busy P, fed up with big name DJ's spinning tired music, caught hold of the track and immediately fell in love with it. This punchy, poppy, electro record fitted perfectly into the ethos of what he was trying to achieve with Ed Banger. It was fun, it was colourful and it made a room full of people go nuts at the very sound of its opening bars. Such was the impact of the Justice remix on Busy P that he signed Justice to the label and released the track almost right away. It became a hit in the more discerning clubs and throughout the blogging community but would have to be released a further two times before it reached the commercial highs that we saw in 2006. Justice aren't just about one record though. Like many in the Ed Banger stable they grew up listening to rock, rap, electro and techno. These influences were apparent in the remix work that Justice did for the likes of Vicarious Bliss, N.E.R.D and Daft Punk and certainly on their first solo single, "Waters of Nazareth". Erol Alkan turned in a remix for the boys and the track was championed by the likes of 2ManyDJ's, Tiga and Ivan Smagghe. With Xavier now describing "Never Be Alone" as "too clean", the boys set off to make their first solo album. The singles from the L.P. reflected what Justice were all about..."Phantom", a fuzzy electro stomper for all those sweat drenched 2am moments and "D.A.N.C.E", the boys off kilter tribute to the King of Pop himself. Both unmistakably Justice and both full of the reasons why we love Justice. And so to this event, where Justice, a whole heap of other French dudes, a pair of Aussies and two Scots bring the noise to The Warehouse Project. And what a noise it promises to be with a Justice DJ set that will probably manage to reference every point in dance music history. From rock to rap, techno to electro, bootleg to banger, it'll all be in there. Who said that the French were crap at music?!

Busy P, DJ Mehdi & So Me
DJ, producer, band manager, record label boss and remixer extraordinaire …Is there anything Busy P can’t do?! When it comes to dance music in France, this guy is THE man! Daft Punk's tour DJ and the man behind Ed Banger records, he comes to the WHP for his second appearance. He's leaving Sebastian to do the washing up at Ed Banger HQ this time around and bringing DJ Mehdi and So Me with him instead. Do you know what they call DJ Mehdi in France? They call him the “French Pharrel”. Why? Because he has that golden touch and whatever he makes, remixes or produces tends to be of top class quality. Through the years he’s worked with Daft Punk, MC Solaar, Chromeo and Cassius on projects that have crossed genres and spanned a hundred copy cat attempts. As with Pharrel though, no one quite does it like Mehdi. And no one quite does it like So Me either. The Ed Banger art director not only paints a pretty picture and produces brilliant video's, he also makes ace noisy, crunching electro. Show off!

Ivan Smagghe
In a poll taken across Britain, when asked to name their favourite ever Frenchman, 67% of those interviewed said Ivan Smagghe. Ok, that's not strictly correct. In fact, it’s not even a little bit true and is a complete and utter lie. However, in our infinite wisdom, we do believe that Ivan Smagghe could actually be one of the most popular Frenchmen ever. Look at the facts....Packed clubs wherever he plays, bookings up and down the country and the fact that Britain has more or less adopted Mr.Smagghe as one of their own. The ex Blackstrobe man and king of the filthy dancefloor plays the type of sinister techno and electro that give a nod to his early love of dark indie and rock. Little wonder then, that he is still one of the most well loved and talked about DJ’s in Europe.

Optimo
Optimo boys JD Twitch and JG Wilkes are the DJ’s and brains behind Glasgow’s longest running Sunday night rave up. Fed up with bland nights with blander music by superstar DJ's, the pair set up Optimo. The aim was to have fun and get a chance to play the records they love. Having recently celebrated ten years of parties, the boys have played host to all the big names of tomorrow. Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and Franz Ferdinand have all passed through on their way to big things on a night where most of us are ironing the work shirts and fretting about another working week. The vibe has always been debauched, the music always timeless; Detroit techno played next to psychadelic punk funk, acid house alongside low-slung electro and forgotten pop gems next to cosmic chuggers. Don't miss!

The Presets [ Live ]
Aussie duo The Presets are one of those acts that defy categorization. Taking in electro, pop, punk funk, swirling synths and screaming guitars typified by their debut album "Beams", The Presets nearly took the roof off at our Modular, Ed Banger and Kitsune Easter party and go down as one of the best live acts we have ever staged. On a freezing cold night the performance was chaotic, experimental, sweat drenched and left us all eager for a return performance. If you liked "Beams" than you wouldn't have been disappointed by Second LP "Apocalypso". Going right for the dancefloor jugular and following the same juxtoposition of style as their debut, "Apocolypse" is, in the bands own words, "more direct, more upfront, more techno inspired...better". Expect another killer live show from Autralia's best dance music export.

Fake Blood
The rumor mill is working over time with this guy (if Fake Blood is actually a guy, that is). The question on everyones lips is, who is Fake Blood? What we do know about the mysterious Mr/Mrs Blood we like...Signed to Herve's "Cheap Thrills" label and making the type of big room electro that demands you jump around like a loon, we pretty much guarantee you will be hearing a lot more of Fake Blood over the coming months. Thunderous rolling b - lines are the name of the game here with any record played either side of stuff like "Fake Blood Theme" sounding pretty puny in comparison. We like.

Yuksek
Continuing the Gallic theme for the Chibuku bash, Yuksek jets into Manchester for his debut at The Warehouse Project. With releases on I’m A Cliché, Kitsune and Relish, the vibe is already out on this chap. He makes thumping electro that fuses hip hop and pop sensibilities with techno. Hhhmmmmm. Sounds familiar. And so it should, as if you have seen any electro DJ worth his salt over the last two years they'll have played some sort of Yuksek production or remix. Chromeo, Shit Disco and Das Pop have all called upon the young Parisian in order to lend some of his special remix dust and make their records harder, better, faster, erm…stronger. Blowing up in 2009. You heard it here first folks.
